Guilty Pleasure Saturday #6

Michael Jackson "The Lady in My Life"

Sorry about the video, this song was never a single so I couldn't find a real video. This song is so fantastically cheesy, but I love it. It's in my list of the top 10 love songs of all time.

Cheesy is an understatement with lyrics like "two hearts in the beat of ecstasy"!

Michael Jackson just isn't credible as a singer of "I love you, girl"-type songs anymore. He's done too many weird things with women and been accused of too many other strange things...

On a side note, I've never heard that song before. Which era is it from?

Don't bust!! This song is from Off the Wall ('79) so he was a tad more credible about wooing women.

I know I haven't mentioned it thus far, and I should have done it sooner: I love this feature. I don't share the same guilty pleasures, but they always take me back or give me a chuckle :)

My favorite Michael Jackson video is the one for "Leave Me Alone." Something about him in a cartoon plane is just really, really funny to me and I can't explain why. Or else, remember the video for that song he did with Paul McCartney? I always liked it because it reminded of this one old Dr. Pepper commerical where a guy runs through the countryside asking people if they wouldn't like to be peppers, too.

Katie: Thanks! YES!! I love Leave Me Alone! It was pretty innovative for its time. The one with Paul McCartney is Say Say Say. LaToya Jackson is in that video too. Ahhh, the gold old days before Michael screwed Paul over by buying his songs' rights.
