England
I decided last night that I'm not going to wait till I'm old to go to England; I plan to go within the next 5 years, preferably within the next 2. Plane tickets aren't as expensive as I thought they would be if you buy them way ahead of time. I get really lazy and complacent if I don't set goals for myself, so this is my goal. If anyone has been and has any tips, let me know!

you go girl. I've been entertaining a similar thought with Hawaii...
If you give yourself two years that gives you a good while to save up... if you go to London it's quite inexpensive to take a quick trip across the chanel to France, too. I think it's actually very smart to plan this far in advance. Do you have a passport yet? Make sure you do that ahead of time, too, as unexpected problems or delays seem to happen occasionally during the application process.
feather - You should go for it :-)
katie - how do the French take to people who don't know French? I know about 10 words/phrases. They hate us as it is. I don't have my passport yet; I'll probably look into that soon.
I'd say with two years planning you'd be best off learning some additional very basic phrases and words. Insofar as I know, the general attitude is that even though a good portion of the pop. speaks english (compared to the small number of multi lingual people here anyhow) there's some sort of cultural urge to make visitors speak french. I am certainly no expert, though about all that.
