This is the blog of an obsessive-compulsive pop culture addict in her mid 20s with a penchant for gay man music, brain-rotting television shows, and margaritas.
Aw, poor Jim. My son had a goldfish that died after only a few weeks, and after a lot of investigation on the internet, we figured out that probable cause of death was too-small-bowl.
I thought they could just live in a bowl, (it seems to me I had goldfish in a bowl for years!) but -- according to internet fish afficandos: goldfish need lots of space in which to poop and pollute their world. Like, 10 gallons per fish or something like that?
Thus, we now have a betta fish in a small tank with a filter. They are much easier to keep than goldfish! I like goldfish better though. I don't think my son minds.
Anyway, sorry for the rambling, Happy New Year! :-)
Thanks for all of your condolences. I'm not sad because it has happened to me so many times :)
Kate - The girl at the pet store said that about 10 gallons per fish, but that's extremely unreasonable! If my pleco dies, I might just get a beta. I had one of those war and peace things, and it lived for a good while.
Goddess - So that's who stole the name I wanted ;)

buh byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyye Jim!
Jenny, I'm sorry for your loss. Apparently the fish we chose was not from strong stock. May he rest in peace.
