TV Musings
Last night's Office was a million times better than last week's but something still seems off. Maybe it's because Jim is at the other office. I think the show is becoming less realistic and more like a sitcom. This is my 3rd favorite show of all-time, but I don't think shows like this were meant to have so many episodes.
Things I loved:
The attention to detail with the Herr's chips, which are local.
Michael blaming Toby for killing the bird
Ryan actually playing along with the "dead relatives" game and not being such a smug asshole.
Dwight's speech about absorbing his twin.
Dwight telling the warehouse guys to clean up the funeral mess and saying, "Mush!"
ER was good again last night. What the hell? This season I actually get excited for the show, not like the past few seasons where I've watched it only because I've watched it for so long (or a couple years ago when I didn't watch at all).

I loved the exchange between Creed and Dwight:
Creed: You know, humans can live for two hours without their heads.
Dwight: You're thinking of chickens.
Creed: What'd I say?
Only bummer from last night: No Jan Levinson Gould sighting. Just the voice.
Re: ER. Word. Last night's ep was the first I'd seen in the last couple years (except for a bit of the last season finale and enough of the season premiere to know that the Kovac baby lived). Anyway, I loved it! They're back to what made the show great - hospital-based medical action. Seeing the evolution of Pratt made me clap with glee at the end. Really. It was kind of sad. Anyway, I'm back on board.
Dim: Gould's out of the picture, remember :)? I love everything Creed says. I think he made up the story about how Ed Truck died.
Karen: They've gotten rid of most of the storylines I hated (everything having to do with Sam, even though I love Linda C.) and they have Darlene, Uncle Jesse, and Kim and Lindsey from Freaks and Geeks. Those people + the old faves like Maura Tierny, Parminder Nagra and my Croatian boyfriend = awesome cast! Pratt, Ray, and Morris don't make me want to punch them in the face anymore either. It's a miracle!
ER has potential. I don't care for the jesus freak student..develop Darlene (Rosanne) more. John Stamos is buggin the hell out of me. Nela and he are gonna hook up and he is gonna botch stuff w/his wife (is she is wife) and kid. The Sam story stuff I am glad is over as well but they are going to need to do something with her.
What I really REALLY want is a nice non arrogant yelly doctor. Just a really likeable character like Mark Greene. I just hate how everyone has to be "Smarter" than the other person. I LOVE that surgeon guy that has the glasses and hit on abby a season or 2 ago (he was on breif last night). Guys like that..just smart likeable characters. Every office/workplace has the jerk but that place has 20.
I liked last night's Office as well, but I agree something was off. I do think it has a lot to do with Jim.
ER is gettin' good! Uncle Jesse is taking some getting used to, but I think I'm going to like him as "Gates."
Loved the nanny part and the scary mom class part -FUNNY.
And you gotta appreciate when they let OUR Croatian boyfriend do something cute and quirky, like singing The Clash into the baby monitor. haha
So, is Sam gone from ER? I missed what happened between Abby and Luca to get them back together--I just remember the scene where they were going off on each other (years ago) when they were breaking up.
I must admit that I like Abby more with Luca than Carter.
OH YEAH--is that girl w/Uncle Jesse is wife or what?
March: Darlene is on like, 2 episodes a year. I don't know why they don't have her on full time. I have no clue who that woman with Uncle Jesse is. I like his relationship with the kid though. Yeah, Dr. Dubenko is cool. I was watching Runaway Jury last night and he was in it.
Meta: I liked the mommy and me class and the nanny stuff. I would probably be like Abby was at the class. Mmmm...Luka singing The Clash.
Noelle: Sam and Luka broke up, thank god. I don't remember how Abby and Luka got back together, but she got knocked up, so here we are! My hate for Carter knows no bounds.
I'm just checking to see if I can still comment on your blog...I merged with beta, and now I'm wishing I hadn't...I can't read any of my new comments! Shit!
BTW, it made me laugh that your "hate for Carter knows no bounds". LOL.
I never saw Million Dollar Baby, but as soon as the other guy started talking about Lion King I about peed my pants and realized what Pam was talking about.
One of the other local things I've spotted on there is the Froggy 101 sticker on Dwight's desk. I listen to that station when I travel through northeast PA on the way to my parents.
One of the funny things I noticed was that Dwight had something stuck on the bottom of his shoe as he was walking away after he was done stomping on the bird mess.
I still haven't seen the office!
And I haven't watched E.R. in years.... It's going off the air in January for a few month and returning in April.
I am very excited for the show taking its' place...."The Black Donnelys"
Should be awesome!
Rusty: I thought about going Beta. I guess I shouldn't. Grrrr...Carter...
B: I didn't see it either, but I knew something was up with Pam's story. And I knew Michael would know Weekend at Bernie's! I saw the thing on his shoe too! I hope it wasn't a piece of the bird!
Annoyed: You should watch. Also, NBC changed its mind and is keeping ER on all season because it's doing so well. Sorry!
or when dwight stepped on the dead bird's box to put out the fire...
